Bird watching has
become the fastest growing outdoor activity in the world. Just 4 miles
west of the lodge lies one of the most renowned birding spots in western
Canada. Beaverhill Lake is a 60 sq. mi prairie wetland that is used by
hundreds of thousands of waterfowl, shorebirds, birds of prey and many
others each year. The species list for the area ranges upwards of 250.
Every year the Town of Tofield holds the Snow Goose Festival that Celebrates
the not only the spring migration of lesser snow geese through the area
but all the other wildlife that is associated to the lake.
